iPhone Repair

How It Works

Phones see a fair amount of abuse and damage through their lifetime and we've seen it all. From simple backup issues to major physical damage and liquid damage. Luckily, most issues can be repaired for less that what it would cost to replace the phone. Repairing your device also helps preserve data and organization so that you don't have to deal with messy file transfers and data migration.

In certain unfortunate cases your iPhone may not be able to be repaired. In these cases Sewanee Mac Repair can help you find your next phone that fits your needs and budget.

Each iPhone and each case is different. I believe that customers should know all their options so that they can make an informed decision.

The most common iPhone repairs are screen and battery replacements. Sewanee Mac Repair keeps an extensive inventory of these parts (most models) for same day service.

To find out what repair options are available for your iPhone fill out the form below. A representative from Sewanee Mac Repair will get back to you via email and give you information regarding the repair options available for your iPhone, make recommendations, list associated costs, estimate turnaround times , answer any questions you may have, and help you setup an appointment.

Special Info Regarding iPhone Repair In 2022

Unfortunately, Apple has been actively working to sabotage independent repair shops and small businesses.

Starting with the iPhone XS and newer, Apple has been serializing parts such as screens and batteries.

This means that when a screen or battery is installed by anyone aside from Apple (or an Apple Authorized Service Provider)

a message will pop up like this:

"Unable to Verify that this iPhone has a Genuine Apple Display"  or "Unable to Verify that this iPhone has a Genuine Battery"

This message will show on the home screen for up to 15 days. Once the 15 day period is over the message will disappear from the home screen but a message will still remain in your iPhone Settings > General indefinitely.

This message shows up even if the replacement display or battery is in fact a Genuine Apple Part. The only way to to avoid this would be to take the iPhone directly to Apple (or an AASP) for the repair. It seems as though they are trying to discourage customers from going anywhere other than a Corporate Apple store for your repairs monopolizing the repair industry and cutting out independent repair shops (Like Sewanee Mac Repair).

If your iPhone is covered under AppleCare or AppleCare+ we recommend taking your device to an Apple Store (or AASP) for repair if you wish to keep your warranty in tact. (Repair outside Apple will VOID YOUR WARRANTY) However, we know that this can be a huge hassle. Sewanee Mac Repair believes that you should have a choice and we are actively involved in the "Right to Repair" Movement which would limit Corporations from these types of policies and restrictions.

We also believe that you should be informed of these risks as well as all risks involved in iPhone repair.
